lime juice
Lime fruit, and particularly their juice, are used in beverages, such as limeade (akin to lemonade).
Lime juice is an essential ingredient for cocktails.
It should always be freshly squeezed.
How to juice a lime
To get the most juice from a lime bring it to room temperature, then roll it on the counter with the flat of your hand while pressing down on the fruit to soften them up before squeezing. Alternatively, put the fruit into the microwave, on high, for 10 seconds to release the juices.
How to store lime juice
When placed in a tightly-covered container, fresh lime juice may be stored in the refrigerator for about 2-3 days. After that, it will begin to lose its flavor. If you have citrus juice left over after making your cocktails with lime juice, freeze it in ice cube trays for longer storage and convenience.
