How do I submit a recipe or ingredient?

First you must be a registered member of GarnishBar. This is to help prevent some spammy recipes and ingredients from being added and ruining your experience. Once you're signed in, click on the "Recipes" or Ingredients" link in the navigation bar near the top of the page. Each of those links will display a dropdown with sub-options. Click on "Submit +" in the dropdown and you'll be taken to the corresponding submission page.

How do I get a recipe or ingredient featured?

Featured recipes and ingredients are chosen by me based on seasonality and trends. However, if you'd like to guarantee that your recipe or ingredient will be featured during a certain time period you can pay $10 for 30 days of premium featuring.

To pay to have a mixed drink recipe or cocktail ingredient featured click the secure Paypal link below and include the URL to the ingredient/recipe on GarnishBar that you would like featured and the date you'd like the 30-day period begin.

If you'd rather talk with me directly about having your recipe or ingredient featured you can always email me or give me a call at (919) 414-8709.

In the future this will become a more seamless process where you'll be able to easily select which recipe or ingredient you'd like featured, pay online and have your content featured immediately.

How do I edit the ingredients of a recipe?

Short answer: Unfortunately, you can't. Still love me?
Long answer: In order to prevent someone from significantly changing a recipe that other users may have liked, wanted, and commented I decided to not implement this functionality. You can always delete your recipe and then submit a new one with the revised ingredients.

If you'd still like to edit the ingredients of a recipe and you'd rather not delete and add a new one you can always email me to discuss the edit and I'll try to help you out.

How do I edit the name of an ingredient?

If you've added an ingredient or see an existing ingredient that has a typo in it's name please email me and I'll make the change as soon as I can.

How do I add a video review?

Currently only admins can link to video reviews. This is was done to prevent spammy and irrelevant links from ruining your evening. If you have a review that you've created that you'd like posted send me the link and I'll take a look.

Do you charge companies to review their products and/or recipes?

Yes. If you are a company who would like your product or cocktail recipe reviewed on GarnishBar email me or give me a call at (919) 414-8709 to discuss fees and options.

Doesn’t getting paid make you biased?

Yes and no. It is impossible (whether you get paid or not, to do a review) to be truly unbiased. The review fee gives priority in the publishing schedule to the product.
